Dates to know

Here are some dates for NYG people to know:
  • June 3 is our next monthly meeting after the last service and Winnie will provide a sloppy joe lunch.
  • June 3 - 17 we will be selling stock in our youth! Investors will be helping our teens in their walk with Christ through their financial support! The ELCA National Youth Gathering provides our teens the opportunity to hear national speakers, see bands in person that you hear on the radio, meet and worship with 36,984 other Lutheran teens and adults from around the United States, do service projects, and go to workshops on various topics about the Christian faith. Stockholders will receive an official NYG 2012 Youth Stock Certificate, an invitation to attend an exclusive Stockholders Meeting & Delicious Dinner (date TBD), and the satisfaction in knowing you helped our youth with an opportunity to grow in their faith by supporting them prayerfully and financially with the many expenses of this gathering.
  • June 10 we will have a meeting with participants and families out in the Shelter House at 5 p.m.  For this family picnic, if we asked families with the last name beginning with A – L to bring a main dish and side or salad and families with the last name beginning with M – Z to bring a main dish and dessert, that usually works out for plenty of food for everyone.  I can provide beverages and we can ask that everyone bring their own table service.
  • June 18 we will be having a dinner out at City BBQ!  That night, just bring the flyer (available at the church) to a City BBQ location any time during that day and we will receive 25% of your total bill!
  • July 15 is our Commissioning Sunday.  On this Sunday, we ask that all participants be at the church no later than 8:30 a.m. to say bon voyage to the early service.  Then at the 9:30 a.m. service there will be a commissioning service (asking God to bless our travel and expereince), then stay during the first part of the 11 a.m. service so that we may be blessed by that service as well.
  • August 5 is NYG Sunday. NYG participants will provide leadership at all 3 services that day, including the sermon.
